iTunes Shuffle Gems Vol.I

Not much to write about these days. Afterall there's only so much reporting you can do on the multiple Stars shows in the city. If you haven't figured out that I worship them then I don't think additional postings on the topic would have convinced you.

I've missed a slew of bands I wanted to see recently which is a big part of my lack of writing material. I did see Kraftwerk but the overall experience wasn't that great. No fault of theirs really--the crowd lacked the proper enthusiasm. The show last year at Coachella was much more satisfying. My inspiration to attend the usual indie nights has dwindled to pretty much nil. I've seen enough bosom flashing & heard enough cheesy 80's tracks to put any true indie kid into retirement. Thank god for my itunes (and Mondo of course!) for keeping my ears finely tuned.

My itunes is so full of stuff that I've bought or have been given (okay maybe there's a bit of downloads in there too, but I promise it's still the minority!) that I can barely keep up myself with the ever-growing music library. I mean do you ever have the experience of having a song come up on your own mp3 player and saying to yourself: "What's this?!".

I decided every once and a while I would share the occasional songs that comes up on my itunes that make my ears perk up with surprise. Tracks that are new to me or have been sitting in my itunes without the proper exposure until now. Here are a few of this weeks gems, along with the band's links:

Entre Rios "Un poco de sed", from Modapop Compilation
Mosquitos "Domestica", from Sunshine Barato
My Favorite "Death Mods", Unreleased
Fine China "The Cells Divide (And I Might Ruin My Life)", from The Jaws Life
The Aislers Set "Chicago New York", from The Last Match
